Black stainless steel woven mesh is made by twisting and interweaving stainless steel wire ropes at each intersection to form a strong and flexible mesh structure. Black stainless steel ferrule mesh also known as black stainless steel buckle mesh, is made by connecting stainless steel wire ropes with seamless stainless steel ferrules at each intersection. Black oxide stainless steel wire rope mesh is hand-woven from high-qualityAISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel wire rope. The black appearance is achieved through a chemical oxidation treatment, in which the surface of the stainless steel reacts with the chemicals in the black oxide solution to form a stable dark oxide layer. Unlike a painted coating, the black finish is produced through a chemical surface treatment rather than by simply applying a layer of paint to the wire rope.
AISI 304 stainless steel is the most commonly used material and can meet the requirements of most general outdoor and inland applications. AISI 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum (Mo), giving it better resistance to corrosion in environments exposed to salt and chlorides. Therefore, AISI 316 black oxide stainless steel wire rope mesh is particularly suitable forcoastal areas, marine environments, and other high-salinity or high-chloride conditions.
The choice between AISI 304 and AISI 316 can therefore be made according to the environmental conditions of the application, helping balance corrosion resistance, service requirements, and project cost.
