black oxide stainless steel wire rope mesh

Hebei Hangyun specializes in manufacturing high-quality black stainless steel woven mesh and has built long-term partnerships with numerous zoos worldwide.

We help clients cut project costs with competitive pricing while creating a natural, safe habitat for animals. The unobtrusive, natural-looking mesh enhances visitor experience and brings greater commercial benefits to zoos, achieving a win-win outcome for all parties.

Recently, we fulfilled an order from Singapore for a zoo aviary — a mixed-bird exhibit designed for a wide variety of bird species. Black stainless steel woven mesh was selected for this project. The matte black finish minimizes sunlight reflection, eliminating glare that would otherwise disturb visitors while watching the birds.

Since the enclosure houses mainly small-sized birds, a 30 mm × 30 mm mesh opening with a 1.2 mm rope diameter was specified. This size prevents the birds from escaping or getting their heads trapped in the mesh.

We discussed the production lead time and shipment arrangements with the client. Finally, the client requested that the goods be shipped by air to Singapore Changi Airport once production is finished.

The aviary netting consists of one large roof panel plus surrounding side panels. Our production team recommended our standard panel size of 20 m × 6 m. This format keeps the production cycle on schedule and minimizes the number of seams the client needs for on-site assembly. The client fully approved this proposal.

Advantages of Black Stainless Steel Woven Mesh for Large Open Aviaries

Flexible woven structure, bird-friendly for impact protection.

Hand-woven cable mesh with no welding joints features elastic cushioning. It dissipates impact energy when birds collide, unlike rigid welded wire mesh, greatly lowering risks of wing laceration, feather damage and bone fracture. The smooth rope surface prevents feather snagging and suits free-flight mixed-bird aviaries.

Bite-resistant against bird pecking, securely prevents escape

Woven from high-tensile stainless steel cables, the mesh cannot be gnawed through by strong-beaked birds such as parrots. Mesh openings are customized according to bird species to reliably stop birds from escaping.

Superior corrosion resistance, low-maintenance for long-term outdoor use

Fabricated from AISI 304 / AISI 316 stainless steel, the mesh resists oxidation, rainwater corrosion and UV radiation. It performs reliably in coastal high-humidity enclosures, with a service life of 20–30 years. It is not prone to aging or embrittlement, eliminating frequent replacements and cutting long-term maintenance costs.

Flexible installation & non-toxic safe material

The lightweight mesh panels can be bent and shaped freely, ideal for curved, irregular and large-span roof constructions. With fewer seams, they can be cut and sized on demand to boost installation efficiency. Containing no harmful substances such as zinc or lead, the material eliminates risks of heavy-metal poisoning and complies with welfare standards for zoos and wildlife conservation.

One-stop service from order placement through production to shipment

Available in reliable AISI 304 / AISI 316 stainless steel for outdoor animal protection applications. The joint-free flexible cable mesh features high impact resistance and bite resistance together with outstanding corrosion resistance, perfect for large open aviaries and similar enclosures. AISI 316 grade is recommended for coastal high-salt-spray environments, delivering a long service life and low long-term maintenance cost.

Custom manufacturing available. We produce and pack pre-divided panels strictly according to clients’ drawings for direct on-site installation, which reduces cutting waste at the job site. Mesh openings and rope diameters can be customized based on animal species to meet safety specifications of zoos and wildlife conservation organizations.

As a professional cable mesh supplier, Hebei Hangyun has earned consistent recognition from clients for reliable product quality, complemented by attentive after-sales support.
